How to Uninstall Adobe Creative Suite CS3

The Adobe Creative Suite CS3 is a productivity suite that includes applications such as PhotoShop, Flash, Dreamweaver and Illustrator. Because Adobe Creative Suite CS3 products are media applications, they consume volumes of memory and hard disk space; if you are not using this productivity suite, it is advisable to uninstall it from your computer to free up system resources and memory (RAM).

    Windows

  1. Step 1

    Close any programs that you are using and click the Windows “Start” menu. Click the “Control Panel.”

  2. Step 2

    Click “Programs” and click “Programs and Features” if you are using Windows Vista or 7. A new window launches with a list of the programs and applications installed on your computer. If you are using Windows XP, double click “Add or Remove Programs” in the Control Panel to launch the installed programs list.

  3. Step 3

    Scroll through the list of installed programs and click “Adobe Creative Suite CS3.” Click “Remove/Uninstall” and click “Yes” to confirm and launch the uninstall wizard. Follow the guided prompts to complete the uninstallation. When prompted, restart your computer.

  4. Step 4

    Remove Adobe Creative Suite CS3 files. To do so, click the Windows “Start” menu and click “Computer” (Windows Vista and 7) or “My Computer” (Windows XP) to launch Windows Explorer.

  5. Step 5

    Type the following address in the address bar located on the top of the Windows Explorer window if you are using Windows Vista or 7: “\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe.” Press “Enter.” Delete files and folders with CS3 in the name. Type the following address in the address bar located on the top of the Windows Explorer window if you are using Windows XP: “\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Application Data\Adobe.” Press “Enter.” Delete files and folders with CS3 in the name.

    Type the following address in the address bar located on the top of the Windows Explorer window if you are using Windows Vista or 7: “\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Adobe.” Press “Enter.” Delete files and folders with CS3 in the name. Type the following address in the address bar located on the top of the Windows Explorer window if you are using Windows XP: “\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe.” Press “Enter.” Delete files and folders with CS3 in the name.

    Mac OS X

  7. Step 1

    Click the “Finder” icon on the dock and click “Applications.” Double click “Utilities” and double click “Adobe Uninstallers.”

  8. Step 2

    Type your administrator password and select “Uninstall Components.” Follow the guided prompts to complete the uninstallation. Repeat for each CS3 program or suite that you wish to uninstall.

  9. Step 3

    Go to “Users” and select your username. Select the “Library” folder and select “Preferences.” Delete files and folders with CS3 in the name. Go to “Library” folder and select “Application Support.” Select the “Adobe” folder and delete files and folders with CS3 in the name.
